SHOOTING UPDATE: Cocoa Police Identify Man Killed in Shooting on Flower Mound Lane

Cocoa Police announced on Tuesday that the victim involved in a shooting incident Monday night has died.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police announced on Tuesday that an Orlando man, 33-year old Brichon Batichon, has been identified as the victim that died on Monday night as a result of a shooting that took place on Flower Mound Lane in Cocoa. 

“Doctors pronounced Batichon deceased at 9:31 p.m.,” said Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department.

“He (the victim) suffered multiple gunshot wounds and detectives are still in the process of interviewing witnesses, identifying potential suspects, establishing timelines and following up on evidence and leads.”

According to the preliminary investigation, police dispatchers began receiving multiple 911 calls around 8:44 p.m. about a reported shooting on the 1600 block of Flower Mound Lane.

Investigators say when officers arrived they found a black male, around 35-years-old, with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk.

Cocoa rescue crews immediately began administering life-saving measures until the man was able to be transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The shooting incident is still under investigation.
