UPDATE: Shooting Victim Identified In Deadly Palm Bay Shooting, Juvenile Suspect Arrested

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for the deadly shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon on Pelican Dr. NE in Palm Bay.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for the deadly shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon on Pelican Dr. NE in Palm Bay.

The shooting victim has been identified as Jose Luis Reyes Jr.

According to the report by Palm Bay Police, detectives believe the victim and the suspect ‘may have been conducting a drug transaction’ when the suspect fatally shot Reyes.

The suspect and several witnesses fled the scene when the shooting took place but were later located and identified by Major Case Unit detectives.

The suspect has been charged with second degree murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

The teen is currently being held at the Juvenile Detention Center for his first court appearance.
