BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Chief Mike Cantaloupe administered the Police Officer’s Oath to the newest member of the Cocoa Police Department Tuesday morning.

Eric Cronin, 32, was born and raised in Brevard County. He recently graduated the Law Enforcement Academy at Daytona State College.

In 2006, he graduated from the Fire Academy at what was then Brevard Community College. He later became a paramedic in 2008.

Cronin will begin learning the department’s policies and procedures and will then be placed with a field training officer for several weeks before being deployed to solo patrol duties.
