BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Much troubled and now much traveled Johnny Manziel has signed with the Alliance of American Football League’s Memphis Express, according to the Alliance of American Football.

The former Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner was released from his CFL contract last month, with league officials announcing he had “contravened the agreement which made him eligible to play in the league.”

After an underwhelming stint in the Canadian Football League, the former college football superstar and NFL flop looks to redeem himself in the new AAF.

It was hoped that Manziel was set for a comeback in the CFL, but was banned from the league for “violating a condition of his agreement.”

During his one season in the CFL, the 26-year old quarterback threw for 1,290 yards, 5 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

The former 22nd overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft and former star Texas A&M quarterback hopes to prove that he has what it takes to play football at the top level once again.
