Sheriff Ivey previews his busy calendar of events
ABOVE VIDEO: It’s time for Space Coast Daily TV’s This Week with Brevard Sheriff Wayne Ivey and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Each week, Sheriff Ivey previews what he and the 1,500 men and women of the BCSO will be doing in the community, and the different events the Sheriff’s Office will participate in throughout the week. Hosted by Space Coast Daily’s Alan Zlotorzynski.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Welcome to This Week With Sheriff Wayne Ivey and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office on Space Coast Daily TV where Sheriff Ivey previews his calendar of events as well as where members of BCSO will be interacting with citizens and events throughout the Space Coast.
On this week’s edition, Sheriff Ivey discusses Constituents Day, where he meets with citizens to discuss their ideas and concerns about the community we live in.
Sheriff Ivey also tells us about his appearance at Northrop Grumman where he will speak to employees about the importance of security at work.
On Tuesday night the Brevard County Sheriff’s office will receive a proclamation from the Brevard County Board of Commissioners recognizing April 14-20 as National Telecommunications Week in honor of our 9-1-1 dispatchers who are the real first responders.
On Thursday, Sheriff Ivey and Cpl. Jason Holloman will partner up to compete against other law enforcement officers and members of the military in the Speedy DeWitt Firearms Challenge to benefit the Public Safety Charity.
Friday will be a busy day for Sheriff Ivey.
After speaking to students at Suntree Elementary, Sherriff Ivey and the Brevard Sheriff’s Office says goodbye to 31-year veteran Greg Purden, who is Commander of Operational Services.
Purden is retiring from the BCSO and has been named as the new Chief of Police for the North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Police Department. The Sheriff will finish off Friday as he hosts a Ride Along that a lucky citizen won in an auction to benefit a local charity.

Saturday kicks off with Sheriff Ivey and members of the BCSO talking about protecting our places of worship.
The Sheriff then stops by Family Fun Day in Melbourne, and speaking of auctions, the Sheriff will finish the week as he hosts an auction at the Cars For Kids event being held at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne to benefit The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard.
