BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I had the honor of serving as the Keynote Speaker for the opening ceremony of the 32nd Annual “Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall” that took place at Wickham Park on Monday.

As the ceremony began I couldn’t help but drift back to six years ago when I first stood at the Traveling Wall to remember our great heroes and wonder how many of them had passed since that time.

I found myself thinking about their unselfish service to our great nation, their sacrifices and their pain of having lost their fellow service members during that horrific time in history.

I also couldn’t help but think about how many of our heroes and their families were in attendance for this year’s ceremony and how it is our duty as a nation and community to never forget them or their service to our country!!

How it is our duty as Americans to carry their memory with us each day and to be thankful for the many blessings we have because of their commitment to keep us and others safe around the world.

Essentially, I thought about how we as a nation owe it to our future generations to honor these brave souls through eternity as many of them died in a far off place so we could wake up everyday in this amazing place we call home!!

Please join me in thanking our Vietnam War heroes for their service to our country as well as all of the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces today to protect our great nation!
