Sydney Clark, Theo Cox Honored as 2019 Cape Coast Conference Scholar Athletes

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Merritt Island High senior, Sydney Clark, and Theo Cox, senior at Edgewood Jr./Sr. High has been named the 2019 top scholar-athletes by the Cape Coast Conference.

Both received the prestigious David St. John Award and $1,000 scholarships given annually to senior athletes who are highly motivated and accomplished in both academics and athletics, and have a presence in their community.

Sydney Clark, a four-year letterman and starter on the Merritt Island varsity soccer team, has a weighted GPA of 4.5, ranking her 1st in her class.

She is planning to attend the University of Florida in the fall with the goal of becoming a biomedical engineer.

Theo Cox is a 4-time, All-CCC for Bowling, 2-time All-CCC for Soccer and a 3–year member of Edgewood’s varsity track team. He is one of the most successful athletes to wear an Edgewood uniform and yet still maintains a 4.40 GPA.

Cox is one of only 80 incoming Florida Tech freshmen to receive the distinguished panther full tuition scholarship.
