Hospice Patient’s VIP Zoo Trip Warms Hearts

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – For most people, a visit to the zoo is just a fun day out. But for Hospice of Health First patient Connie, it was so much more.
Connie had a simple wish – to visit the Brevard Zoo. And when Sheila, a volunteer services coordinator at Health First, heard about it, she jumped into action.
Connie received not only free admission to the Melbourne zoo, but a special behind-the-scenes tour with a zookeeper, alongside Health First volunteer Monty, who accompanied Connie for her VIP visit.
“If I feel down, all I have to do is recall it, and I feel better,” Connie beams. “The experience was invaluable, and I will never forget it.”
This act of kindness not only warmed Connie’s heart, but all those involved in fulfilling her dream.
Monty was grateful to help turn Connie’s wish into a touching memory.
“It was one of the most rewarding days of my life, seeing so many people come together just to make Connie have that special, memorable day,” Monty says.
“Connie was an absolute joy to be around, and she had me laughing and smiling the entire time. Such a wonderful reminder that life is about the little moments. She is an amazing lady, and I will remember our trip to the zoo forever.”
