FRANCE – The U.S. women’s soccer team made history again as they defeated Netherlands 2-0 to win their second straight World Cup.
The win on Sunday gives the U.S. Women’s National Team their fourth World Cup Title overall.
United States’ Megan Rapinoe scored with a penalty kick in the 61st minute.
The penalty kick was given to the U.S. when a foul was committed on Alex Morgan in the box. It took a VAR review and an official review for the U.S. to be awarded a penalty kick.
Rapinoe, 34, became the oldest player to score a goal in a Women’s World Cup Final.
Minutes later, Rose Lavelle locked up the victory when she scored in the 69th minute to give the U.S. a 2-0 advantage.
