Eastern Florida State Pulls Off 76-70 Win Against Coastal Alabama-North in Josh Artis Memorial Classic

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team hit some big shots down the stretch to defeat Coastal Alabama-North 76-70 on the first day of the Josh Artis Memorial Classic at Titan Field House Saturday.

Sophomore Osayi Osifo played the final seven minutes with four fouls and scored nine of his season-high 24 points with those final seven minutes to help the Titans improve to 10-6.

Down by as many as nine points in the second half the Titans battled back to tie the game 55-55 on a Brian Dugazon basket.

Freshman Robert Hardy had a season-high 18 points and Amar Tiganj had nine including a huge 3-pointer with under four minutes remaining.

The Titans held the Eagles to 70 points marking the 15th time this season that Eastern Florida State College has held an opponent under 75 points in a game.

Coastal Alabama-North’s Jarrett Taylor had six 3-pointers to finish with 18 points for the Eagles.

The Titans will play Palm Beach College on Sunday at 4 p.m. The Panthers lost to the State College of Florida-Manatee 94-88 in the first game of the day. Marshall Kearing had 22 of his game-high 24 points while D’Moi Hodge finished with 20 to lead the Manatees.

Manatee will play Coastal Alabama-North at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the first game of the tournament. Admission is free to games at Titan Field House.
