Air Force Veteran Joseph George Vernace, 92, of Merritt Island Passed Away Jan. 19

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Joseph George Vernace, 92, of Merritt Island passed away Sunday, January 19 from complications with pneumonia.
He was born July 1, 1927, to the late Rosario Vernaci and Fannie Chisesi.
He was an Air Force Veteran who retired in 1968 after 22 years of service. He then moved his family to the Space Coast and worked at Kennedy Space Center until 1993.
He was a loving husband and father and the kind of friend that would do anything for you. He is now reunited with his wife of 63 years, Gerdi Vernace.
He is survived by his daughters Pamela Perkins of Wake Forest, NC, and Kimberly Vernace of New York, NY; and his three grandsons, Derek, Nathan and Jeff Strening.
Donations can be sent to Faith Lutheran Church in Merritt Island where services were held.
