second public mural project of Vity of Cape Canaveral's Civic Scenery Program

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – As part of continued efforts to enhance the community’s cultural landscape, the City of Cape Canaveral is initiating the second public mural project of its Civic Scenery Program.
This project will entail the installation of outdoor murals on the three ball field structures located at Canaveral City Park. The City is accepting applications from experienced mural artists or artist teams, working in any style, who wish to design and implement these murals.
Artists must submit designs for all three structures, with each one representative of the City’s trademarked brand slogan, “The Space Between” using the predicates — Sun + Sea; Friends + Family; and Waves + Wonder.
No other themes will be considered or accepted.
The selected artist will be paid $5,000 for the implementation, must be fully insured and will be responsible for all materials and supplies necessary to successfully complete the project.
Eligible submissions will be featured in a community input survey, which will allow the City’s Culture and Leisure Services Advisory Board to make an informed selection.
That recommendation will then go before the Community Appearance Board for final approval.
The deadline for design submissions is February 3, 2020.
