Update from Sheriff Ivey

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Most of you will remember the arrest of a local woman back in August who was captured on video putting her dog “Neptune” in the trunk of a hot car in the Cocoa area.
You may also recall that when “Neptune“ was rescued by our team, I personally walked his owner into the Brevard County Jail for Animal Cruelty and that our agency subsequently asked our partners at the SPCA of Brevard to foster “Neptune” and do everything they could to nurse him back to health!
Well folks thanks to an amazing team at the SPCA and a lot of love, this is “Neptune“ today with his new owner and family member who you can tell already loves him dearly!
“Neptune” as you can see has recovered perfectly and is now going to his “furever” home with his new family who will never allow him to be harmed again!!
“Neptune” is a perfect example of what happens when a community takes Animal Cruelty seriously, puts bad people in jail for harming animals, and partners together to save lives!!
Please join me in giving a big shout out to the SPCA of Brevard for all they did to help “Neptune,” our Animal Cruelty Team for all they did to put his abuser behind bars, and of course his new owner for making sure he will have the best life possible!
