Titusville Police Traffic Officer Shawntrale Durden responded to a traffic crash this week, and unfortunately, the victim’s bike was damaged beyond repair. (Titusville PD image)

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police Traffic Officer Shawntrale Durden responded to a traffic crash this week in which the victim was uninjured, but the bike was damaged beyond repair.

Officer Durden surprised him with a new bike and bike helmet.

BIKE SAFETY TIPS: 

Of the 7,249 bicyclists involved in a crash in 2018, 87 percent were not wearing a helmet. All motorcyclists and bicyclists should wear helmets for safety.

Motorists and bicyclists should refer to the official Florida Driver License Handbook for more safety tips about operating on roadways.

Supervise young children as they are biking to school.
