Megan Happel, Alyssa Serres Join Space Coast Office of Tourism’s Marketing Team

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Two new members of the Space Coast Office of Tourism’s Marketing Team will add strength to the organization.

Meagan Happel joins the Office of Tourism as Public Relations Manager from Brevard County Public Schools where she served as the Communications Coordinator for Food & Nutrition Services.

She managed their social media accounts and created signs displayed in cafeterias to promote various offerings while also conducting media outreach and acting as the department’s photographer.

Prior to this role, she worked with the Florida Department of Transportation on their Florida 511 awareness campaigns at Global-5 Communications in Longwood.

Happel is also the VIP Coordinator for the Orlando Film Festival as a key point of contact for filmmakers, media and sponsors in addition to running their social media.

Happel was raised in Brevard County and was an active volunteer with the Brevard Zoo and member of ‘Florida Today’s teen section ‘The Verge’ while in high school. She has a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications from Florida State University. In her spare time, she can be found visiting theme parks and pop-culture conventions.

Alyssa Serres joins the Office of Tourism as the Content Coordinator handling the social media for the organization.

Most recently she worked as a Digital Content Specialist for Black Tie Digital Marketing in Melbourne. Prior to that she was a Staff Writer for Rooster Magazine in Colorado.

Serres relocated from Denver, Colorado to Brevard County in 2015. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Alyssa developed her skills in video production, print journalism and digital marketing.

A self-described perpetual tourist, Alyssa craves experiences. Discovering what’s new and what’s legendary about every community and space drives her to uncover new stories to share.

She looks forward to continuing to explore the Space Coast and inspiring others to do the same.
