Space Coast beaches will be open Monday through Thursday with no restrictions

SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The Brevard County Policy Group decided to restrict beach access starting on Friday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The beaches will be open Monday through Thursday with no restrictions.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Policy Group decided to restrict beach access starting on Friday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The beaches will be open Monday through Thursday with no restrictions.

Brevard County lifeguards will be in operation and beach renourishment efforts will continue.

Penalties for beach access violations are a second-degree misdemeanor, which calls for a maximum of 60 days in the county jail.

“It was a spirited discussion,” said Brevard County Commission and Policy Group ChairLober during a press conference after the Policy Group discussion.

The final vote was 5-4 in favor of restricting beach access.
