Orlando Pride Announces 2020 Preseason Opening Day Roster, Includes Brevard Native Ashlyn Harris

Orlando Pride will begin its fifth National Women’s Soccer League season with 38 players on its preseason roster, with 26 of those players reporting for camp on Day 1 of training at Sylvan Lake Park. (Orlando SC Image)

Harris Allocated to Pride from U.S. Soccer Federation

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Orlando Pride will begin its fifth National Women’s Soccer League season with 38 players on its preseason roster, with 26 of those players reporting for camp on Day 1 of training at Sylvan Lake Park.

Orlando will see 12 additional players come in over the coming weeks, with many away on international duty or finishing offseason campaigns in Australia’s Westfield W-League.

The Pride will be welcoming 17 new faces to Orlando this preseason, with seven currently under contract including U.S. WNT defender Emily Sonnett, New Zealand captain Ali Riley and Canadian goalkeeper Erin McLeod. Orlando has also signed three of its seven 2020 NWSL College Draft picks ahead of the season.

Nine Pride players are currently away on international duty, while Emily van Egmond, Alanna Kennedy and Claire Emslie will begin W-League postseason play next weekend.

They will report to Orlando following the conclusion of their Australian seasons. Alex Morgan will not yet report to camp due to pregnancy.

Brevard native Ashlyn Harris, Ali Krieger, Morgan and Sonnett have been allocated to the Pride from the U.S. Soccer Federation, while Shelina Zadorsky will again be allocated from Canada.

The Pride open the 2020 regular season on Sunday, April 19, hosting Sky Blue FC at Exploria Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
