BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – This afternoon, I am extremely pleased to announce that the two suspects wanted in connection with the February 18 carjacking on I-95 in Titusville, have been arrested and are now sitting behind bars where they belong.

The investigation began on February 18, when two suspects unsuccessfully attempted to carjack a vehicle from a victim at the BP Gas Station located at 3460 Garden Street in Titusville.

The suspects then traveled to the Executive Garden Hotel at 3480 Garden Street, at which time they successfully carjacked a second victim, resulting in the victim sustaining substantial physical injuries requiring hospitalization.

During the second carjacking, the suspects stole the victim’s Dodge Ram Pick-up truck and fled onto I-95 where they crashed into a semi-truck.

The suspects then fled from the disabled vehicle and carjacked another victim who stopped to render aid, after witnessing the traffic crash. The suspects again used physical force to obtain this victim’s vehicle and fled the area.

As the investigation continued Agents with the North Precinct General Crimes Unit were able to identify both the suspects and obtain arrest warrants that were signed by a Brevard County Judge for their arrest.

As a result, 25-year-old Lanorris Habersham, of Pompano Beach, was arrested on February 20 in Louisville, Georgia.

She has subsequently been extradited back to Brevard County where he is currently incarcerated in the Brevard County Jail with No Bond.

In addition, 26 year-old Jalen Smith, of Pompano Beach, was arrested on March 5 by the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force, which the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is an active member in Swainsboro, Georgia.

Smith is currently awaiting extradition back to Brevard County as both suspects face charges of Carjacking and Violation of Probation.
