BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa police officials issued a statement Friday evening that said the department will provide public safety and security for every individual during the March for Justice set for Saturday.

“We are working very hard to make sure all the necessary resources are in place to protect the participants of this event as well as the communities surrounding it,” said Cocoa police officials on social media.

“We ask all of our citizens to report any suspicious activity and the direct source of any threats seen or heard. There are many rumors and unsubstantiated statements being made and we respectfully ask the public not to engage in spreading these rumors.

“As previously stated, we will stand with the peaceful voices who march in our communities. We will march alongside them. We stand with every citizen who expects civility, decency, compassion, respect and justice. The safety and security of every person has been and always will be our highest and most sacred priority.”
