ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Combining drive-in movie theatres with a known Florida experience of sailing in boats is the company Beyond Cinema.
Announced earlier this week, a floating cinema with socially distanced boats is scheduled to come to Orlando in September.
The unique cinema will be in Orlando for just five days, from Sept. 9 to Sept. 13 and will feature 12 to 24 mini boats that hold up to eight people per boat.
Tickets will require people to purchase an entire boat to ensure that groups will be seated with friends and family only and include social distancing between each other and neighboring boats.
“Movies are set to be a mix of golden oldies and new releases but will be announced when tickets go on sale!” said Beyond Cinemas officials online.
“There will be free popcorn for everyone attending, and other movie snacks and drinks will be available to purchase before you set sail.”
A specific location for the pop-up floating boat cinema has not been announced yet. The company has set up similar experiences in cities including Miami and New York.
