In a dominating fashion, Holy Trinity defeated Lakeland Christian with an impressive score of 67-13.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County high school teams continue to deliver excitement and dominant performances as teams secure decisive victories and advance to critical state semifinal battles. In both girls basketball and baseball, standout teams are positioning themselves for success in the postseason.

Girls Basketball

Holy Trinity’s Commanding Win

In a dominating fashion, Holy Trinity defeated Lakeland Christian with an impressive score of 67-13.

The overwhelming margin of victory has set the stage for their next challenge as they prepare to face Providence School in the 2A State Semifinals on February 27. Holy Trinity’s performance has not only energized their supporters but also established them as a formidable force heading into the playoffs.

Palm Bay Advances with a Strong Effort

In another notable semifinal push, Palm Bay secured a decisive 63-27 win over Bishop Moore. With their sights set on further postseason success, Palm Bay will next take on Booker in the 4A State Semifinals scheduled for March 4.

Their dominant showing against Bishop Moore has ignited hope among fans and set high expectations for their upcoming clash for a trip to the State Championship on the line.

Baseball

The baseball diamond also saw several teams deliver strong performances:

Merritt Island edged Melbourne 3-0.

A tightly contested game resulted in Merritt Island’s narrow victory, demonstrating resilience on both sides of the field.

Viera overwhelmed Titusville 13-1.

With a commanding performance, Viera showcased offensive firepower and robust defense to secure a comprehensive win.

Melbourne Central Catholic secured a 2-1 win over Rockledge.

In a closely fought contest, Melbourne Central Catholic managed to edge out Rockledge, highlighting the competitive spirit in the league.

Eau Gallie blanked Holy Trinity 8-0.

Eau Gallie delivered a shutout performance, asserting their dominance with a clear victory over Holy Trinity on the baseball field.

On the baseball front, while the recent scores provide a snapshot of current team strengths, the season’s journey continues with more opportunities for teams to refine their strategies and vie for playoff positions.

Garcia grew up in Rockledge and attended Andersen Elementary and Kennedy Middle before becoming a Rockledge Raider. After moving to Melbourne, he attended Eau Gallie High School, graduating in 2019.

As a youth, Garcia excelled in many sports and played basketball in middle school and all four years of high school, including at Rockledge and Eau Gallie high schools.

“My passion for sports was sparked at a young age, and I look forward to bringing exciting play-by-play action, expert analysis, and highlighting the players and coaches that make sports on the Space Coast special,” said Garcia.

Garcia joins the veteran and expert Space Coast Daily–Friday Night Locker Room team that includes Space Coast Sports Hall of Famers Steve Wilson and Orville Susong of the Friday Night Locker Room, Tom Palermo, Jim Palermo, Giles Malone, Zach Clark, Terry Spain, JC Meyerholz, Matt O’Hern, Gavin Keith, Bobby Freeman and Brian Dillon.
