BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team fell to seventh-ranked Florida Southwestern Wednesday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans could not keep up with the Bucs in the second half, losing 74-53 in a non-conference game.

Markus Harding got the Titans started with a 3-pointer and held the lead for the first nine minutes of the contest but Florida Southwestern went on a 14-3 run to build a 26-17 lead with 4:15 remaining in the first half.

But the Titans would fight back as Buka Peikrishvili hit a 3-pointer and Nick Alves made a basket at the end of the first half to cut the Bucs lead to four, 28-24.

The Bucs would keep that lead until the 11:13 mark, when Florida Southwestern hit three 3-pointers in a span of a minute, to take an 11-point lead.

The Titans could not rally back this time as the Bucs would build the lead to as much as 25 before Harding hit two baskets late.

Four Bucs players finished in double-digit scoring led by Kario Oquendo’s 13-point effort. The Titans were led by Harding, who finished with 12 points.

The Titans will travel to Palm Beach State College next Monday for a 6 p.m. game.
