BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Back in February, Mayor Michael Blake with approval from City Council, requested a donation of Cocoa water be made to our neighbors in Texas who were in need due to the destruction from the winter storm that passed through there earlier in the month.

With the Mayor and members of the Council on hand on March 19th, a truck was on sight at the Cocoa warehouse to load up 7 pallets of bottled water to be shipped to Harris County, Texas.

Some residents of Harris County are still in need of water after the major winter storm came through their area in February.

The storm not only took out much of the electrical grid across the state, but it also burst aging pipes. Many residents are still awaiting plumbers to come out and repair damages from the storm.

The City of Cocoa had a similar donation in 2014 during the Flint, Michigan water crisis.

“The City of Cocoa is blessed to be able to assist our neighbors in need once again by providing safe, clean drinking water. I know they would do the same for us if needed,” said Mayor Blake.
