Brevard’s Dr. Terrence Cronin Jr. Elected President of the American Academy of Dermatology

American Academy of Dermatology represents more than 20,000 doctors around the world

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Dr. Terrence Cronin Jr., who was recently elected president of the American Academy of Dermatology, was honored during a special ceremony by the Brevard County Commission.

Dr. Cronin was presented with the commendation by the members of the commission for being elected president of the largest organization of dermatologists in the world.

The American Academy of Dermatology was founded in 1938 and represents more than 20,500 dermatologists in the United States, Canada, and around the world.

Dr. Cronin, who is the first dermatologist in Florida ever to receive such an honor, operates the Cronin Skin Cancer Center in Melbourne where he works with his father, Dr. Terrence Cronin, Sr., who has been a dermatologist in Melbourne for 50 years. They have treated more than 100,000 patients with skin cancer over the years.

Dr. Cronin was recently joined by his niece, Dr. Megan Cronin, a graduate of the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery.

During the ceremony in the commission chambers in Viera, Dr. Cronin accepted the honor, saying how proud he was to have grown up and be a Brevard County native.
