City of West Melbourne to Hold Public Hearing Regarding Comprehensive Plan, Zoning on May 11

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – West Melbourne Planning & Zoning Board, May 11, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Council Chamber located at 2285 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida.

The Planning & Zoning Board will take public comment and make a recommendation to the City Council on whether to transmit the proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment No. 2021-04 (LSA) map amendment and rezone the properties to the City of West Melbourne R-3.

West Melbourne City Council, May 18, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Council Chamber located at 2285 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida.

The City Council will take public comment, the Planning, and Zoning Board’s recommendation and consider whether to transmit the proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment No. 2021-04 (LSA) map amendment and rezone the properties to the City of West Melbourne R-3.

Comprehensive Plan Amendment No. 2021-04 (LSA) map amendment proposes to amend the City’s future land use map to designate Urban Density (UD-RES) use for properties consisting of 51.382 acres more or less.

The properties are located on the south side of U.S. 192, west of Interstate 95, and east of St Johns Heritage Parkway and assigned Parcel Identification Numbers 28-36-10-00-273 and 28-36-10-01-1-1 by the Property Appraiser of Brevard County as indicated on the map of this advertisement.

The property is more particularly described as follows:

That part of Lot 27 and all of Lot 28, Florida Indian River Land Company Subdivision, according to the plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 80, Public Records of Brevard County, Florida, lying East of the property described in the Order of Taking recorded in Official Records Book 7107, Page 105, Public Records of Brevard County, Florida, all lying in the North 1/2 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 10, Township 28 South, Range 36 East, Brevard County, Florida, Less and Except the Canal right-of-Way. Containing 32.106 acres, more or less.

Parcel 2:

All of Blocks 1 through 12, inclusive, Fairview Lawn Subdivision in Section 10, Township 28 South, Range 36 East, according to the plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 5, Page 40, Public Records of Brevard County, Florida. Containing 19.269 acres, more or less.

The public hearing(s) may be continued to a time and date certain by announcement at the scheduled hearing without any further published notice.

A copy of the proposed comprehensive plan amendment is available for public inspection at City Hall, 2240 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida.

All persons wishing to be heard should appear in person at these hearings or send written comments to the City Clerk.

All persons and parties are hereby advised that if they should decide to appeal any decision made by the City with respect to any matter considered at the public meeting or hearing described in this notice, they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, said person or party may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (Chapter 286, Florida Statutes).
