Melbourne Police Department Receives First Ever Re-Accreditation From Florida Commission

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA– The Melbourne Police Department received its Accreditation from the Florida Commission for Accreditation at their conference in Orlando.

City Manager Shannon Lewis joined Chief David Gillespie, the Command staff and members of the Professional Standards Unit to accept the agency re-accreditation.

Melbourne police officials said that this is the departments first time ever being re-accredited.

The Melbourne Police Department is dedicated to the citizens of Melbourne and their quality of life.

Department personnel work closely with business partners, neighborhood watch groups and community leaders in an effort to reach mutual goals and foster a strong, committed partnership.
