Holy Trinity President Dr. Katherine M. Cobb Named to Stetson University Board of Trustees

Dr. Katherine M. Cobb has been named to the Board of Trustees of Stetson University. BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Dr. Katherine M. Cobb has been named to the Board of Trustees of Stetson University. Dr. Cobb is President of Melbourne-based Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, a dual campus private school of approximately 900 students, which was recently named in the top 1-percent of K-12 private schools in the U.S. by the Orlando Business Journal.

Cobb is considered a Stetson “Double Hatter,” receiving her Bachelor of Arts from the University in 1981, and her Juris Doctorate from Stetson’s College of Law in 1983. She has also served on the Board of Stetson’s University College of Arts and Sciences.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Cobb to the Stetson University Board of Trustees,” said Maureen Breakiron-Evans, chair of Stetson University’s Board of Trustees. “She brings a deep understanding of the educational field and of the needs and desires of our students which will be invaluable as we refresh our strategic planning efforts going forward.”

Prior to joining Holy Trinity as its President in 2017, Cobb was Associate Vice President for Academic Programs for Eastern Florida State College from 2014-2017, and held numerous other administrative and teaching positions over the course of a 25 year tenure there.

Before choosing a career in education, she was a practicing attorney specializing in litigation, probate and bankruptcy.

“I am delighted to have been elected to the Stetson University Board of Trustees,” said Cobb.

“It is truly an honor to serve this higher ed institution that has played such an important role in my life and those of its students. I look forward to contributing to the leadership and direction of this esteemed University.”

Dr. Cobb has served with several organizations in Brevard County and chaired the Boards of the American Cancer Society, the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Brevard Neighborhood Development Coalition (now known as Neighbor Up).

In recognition of her commitment to education and community, Dr. Cobb was awarded the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) Thomas E Gamble Award for Excellence in Education, and was the recipient of the Skattum Community Leader Award in 2018 and the recognized as a Women of Excellence by the Melbourne Regional Chamber in 2009.
