BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police Explorer Post 597 competed recently in the Florida Association of Police Explorers state competition and brought home several trophies in crime scene, traffic stop and in-progress.

“We’re proud of the hard work they put into preparing for this competition and thank our advisors for their leadership and dedication,” said Palm Bay Police officials.

The competition tested team skills in a variety of law enforcement scenarios as the Palm Bay Police Explorers took seventh place overall.

The competition tested the participant’s skill level and knowledge in many law enforcement categories including emergency vehicle operations, firearms training simulator, traffic crashes, traffic stops, crime scene, search and arrest, physical agility and others.

They also were evaluated based on their ability to articulate all the facts in a written report and their ability to fill out appropriate forms in accordance with each scenario.
