COLLEGE FOOTBALL: UCF Knights Long Snapper Alex Ward Named Patrick Mannelly Award Semifinalist

6-4, 240-pound redshirt senior from Choctawhatchee High School

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Patrick Mannelly Award, which honors the best Football Bowl Subdivision senior long snapper, announced its 2021 semifinalists Monday night, and UCF’s Alex Ward was among the 10 honored from across the country.
Ward is a 6-4, 240-pound redshirt senior from Choctawhatchee High School and is majoring in mechanical engineering.
Three finalists will be selected on Nov. 29, 2021. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony in December.
Ward has been UCF’s long snapper the last three seasons and earned American Athletic Conference All-Academic honors each of his first four years in school at UCF.
This season, Ward has continued to excel as snapper and recovered a fumble in the win over Memphis on Oct. 22.
