Man in Brevard County Charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder After Striking Woman With Vehicle, Choking Her

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 33-year-old Daniel Patregnani from Clearwater, Florida, for seriously injuring a woman by intentionally striking her with his vehicle in Brevard County.
Patregnani was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued charging him with Attempted 1st Degree Murder.
The investigation began at approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, when deputies responded to the area of Pineda Causeway (just east of I-95) after an emergency 911 call was received stating that Patragnani had struck a woman with his vehicle.
The caller further advised that Patregnani was also on top of the woman choking her.
Deputies arrived to find the victim seriously injured and Patregnani being restrained by off-duty law enforcement officers who were driving by the incident and stopped to assist.
The investigation has revealed that Patregnani and the victim were in a vehicle on the Pineda Causeway.
At some point, the victim exited the vehicle and began running from the area.
Patregnani proceeded to drive across multiple lanes of traffic, towards the victim, and intentionally struck her.
Patregnani then exited the vehicle, naked, and dragged the victim on the ground, striking her with his fists and choking her. Off-duty law enforcement officers came to the aid of the victim, detaining Patregnani until the arrival of deputies.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, where she remains in critical, but stable condition following emergency surgery.
Patregnani was also transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released, after which he was served with the arrest warrant and transported to the Brevard County Jail Complex.
This investigation is continuing and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
Patregnani is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail on a No Bond status.
