BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Looking for something to do this weekend? Then consider lending a hand to help us build oyster prisms! These oyster prisms are plastic-free structures that will become part of the living shoreline at McNabb Park, located at 1600 Minutemen Cswy, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931.
Oysters can attach to them and grow so that they can filter and clean the water in the Banana River Lagoon!
This workshop is on November 5 and 6, with morning and afternoon sessions to choose from. It will be held at the City of Cocoa Beach Public Works.
There are no fees associated with this volunteer opportunity. This workshop will be outside and very hands-on, so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting concrete on. Snacks and water will be provided.
