BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Growing demand has led to longer lines and extended wait times at Brevard County Emergency Management-supported COVID-19 testing and monoclonal treatment sites, prompting recommendations to bring along a good book, snacks and plenty of patience.
In just the past four to five weeks the number of COVID-19 cases in Brevard County has jumped from 50 per 100,000 to 814.6 per 100,000, which ranks among the highest rate of positive COVID-19 test results since the pandemic started.
The number of tests being administered has more than doubled in just the past week, leading to extended wait times in some locations. Even with the increased demand, however, there is more testing available now in the county than at any point previously during the pandemic.
It is recommended that those seeking a COVID-19 test exercise patience and to consider bringing along a good book to read and something to snack on while you wait. It’s also recommended to make sure your vehicle has plenty of gas in the tank.
