Merritt Island Wrestling Dominates St. Thomas Aquinas 58-18, Advances to State Semifinals vs. Lake Gibson Today

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs wrestling team dominated St. Thomas Aquinas 58-18 on Friday in Class 2A state quarterfinal wrestling action to advance to the Florida High School Athletic Association state semifinals.
Mustangs who pinned their opponent included Kaden Barrial in the 106-pound class, Kyle Mulley in the 120-pound class, Eddie Sears in the 132-pound class, Seven Tornga in the 170-pound class, Nick Lesch in the 182-pound class, Kaleb Ivie in the 195-pound class and Bobby Ives in the 220-pound class.
The Mustangs will now face the defending state champion Lake Gibson Braves on Saturday in Kissimmee at 10 a.m.
The winner will then compete in the afternoon for the state title.
