The Viera boys soccer team has an impressive overall record of 18-1-1 on the season

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Viera Hawks boys soccer coach Nick Robinson and players Connor Floyd and Max Maytalked about their upcoming match against No. 2 Doral Academy Firebirds in the FHSAA Class 6A State Finals at Spec Martin Stadium in Deland on Saturday.

The match is set to begin at 1:05 p.m. as the No.1 Hawks make their first FHSAA State Championship appearance in program history after defeating Mitchell 2-1 in the state semi-finals on Saturday.

The two goals scored by the Hawks came from sophomore Max May and senior Evan Kirrane.

Viera boys soccer have an overall record of 18-1-1 on the season.

How They Got Here

In round one of the playoffs, the Hawks cruised to a 3-o win over Harmony. Next, Viera continued their playoff run and quest for gold as the Hawks defended home field once again defeating Lake Howell 2-0. Finally, the Hawks went on to defeat Mitchell High School 2-1 in the State Semifinal to clinch a State Championship berth for the first time in program history.

◾Senior Andrew Bennett leads the team in goals with 9

◾Junior Yordan Torres leads the teams in assists with 8

Viera will be facing the defending State Champions in No.2 Doral Academy Firebirds who are 15-2-3 overall on the season.
