PREP SOCCER: Seven Merritt Island Mustangs Named to All Cape Coast Conference Soccer Team

Merritt Island High boys and girls both crowned district champs in 2022

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island High School girls varsity soccer team had four players, and the boy’s team had three, selected to the All Cape Coast Conference team.
For the girls, Senior Captain, Kyleigh Trout, also a member of 2021 All Cape Coast Conference team, was joined by fellow Captains Dani Grenon and Brooklyn McDuffie to this year’s squad.
Sophomore Julianna Trujillo rounded out the Mustangs receiving All-Conference honors.
On the boy’s side, Captains Seamus Feeney and Grant Paparella were recognized and were joined by Brady Denaburg, a multi-sport student-athlete who also received top honors in varsity football.
“We’re so proud to have area coaches recognizing our student-athletes at Merritt Island High School for their outstanding play on the soccer field,” said Mustang girls head coach, Nathan Trout.
“Brevard County is well-known for extremely talented athletes and it’s great to see our players recognized amongst them.”
The boy’s team was crowned 2022 Cape Coast Conference Champions and 2022 District Champions. They advanced to the region quarterfinals in the post-season playoffs.
The girl’s team was also named 2022 District Champions and advanced to the regional semifinals.
