City of Palm Bay to Hold Special Election for City Council Seat 5 March 8

EDITOR’S NOTE: At its regular meeting on October 21, 2021, the City Council scheduled a special election to fill a vacancy due to the resignation of Seat 5 Councilman Jeff Bailey. The special election will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, to elect a successor to serve the remainder of the term of City Council Seat 5 which expires on November 8, 2022.


BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – A believer in the American Dream of low taxes, affordable housing, safety and security, and good schools, Pete Filiberto, a candidate for Palm Bay City Council Seat 5, was born and raised in Palm Bay back when taxes were the lowest in the county, housing was affordable to all, and roads were not a safety concern.

A graduate of Palm Bay’s Bayside High School, Filiberto attended Florida International University where he earned a degree in Political Science.

Filiberto’s career in government and public policy began at the age of 18, working across several departments in the Town of Surfside, including parks and recreation, tourism, public works, and the police department.

This experience provided him with exposure to the inter-workings of local government and Filiberto’s neighbors relied upon him as a source for important information, public safety, and as a liaison on important issues.

With more than ten years of local involvement as a volunteer, employee, resident, and taxpayer, Filiberto is proven to lead in a responsive, cost-effective style of government that will preserve the lagoon, roads, and will usher in the American Dream for future generations of Palm Bay.
