NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Florida until 7 p.m. EDT.
Be weather aware today and have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings.
Due to the heavy rain over the last two days washing out part of the northbound lanes of U.S. Hwy. 1, all northbound lanes were shut down near Frog Bones Shooting Center in Melbourne and traffic is being rerouted via the southbound lanes.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Steady temperature around 76. North northwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 am and 5 am, then a slight chance of thunderstorms after 5 am. Patchy fog after 5 am. Low around 64. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
