Orlando City Soccer’s Goalkeeper Pedro Gallese Wins 2022 MLS Save of the Year

recorded a career-high nine shutouts across all competitions for the Lions

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Orlando City SC goalkeeper Pedro Gallese has won the 2022 MLS Save of the Year, presented by Allstate, which was announced today.
The Peruvian won the award for his stop against Dom Dwyer in the Lions’ match against Atlanta United FC on July 17.
Gallese went into a full-body stretch, elevating to block a long-range shot from Dwyer that was curling into the top corner (WATCH HERE).
This season, the 32-year-old goalkeeper recorded a career-high nine shutouts across all competitions for the Lions, including a clean sheet in the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final against Sacramento Republic FC that helped secure the Club’s first trophy of its MLS era.
The Lima, Peru, native has totaled 83 starts and appearances for Orlando City across all competitions.
The MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate was determined by fan votes on MLSsoccer.com, with the award established in 2009.
