NEW YORK – Tampa Bay Lightning open the 2022-23 regular season on the road tonight against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

The Bolts are 0-1-0 all-time in season openers against the Rangers
Tampa Bay and New York are playing for the first time since Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final on 6/11/22, a 2-1, series-clinching Lightning win at Amalie Arena to advance to a third-straight Stanley Cup Final with Steven Stamkos scoring both goals for the Bolts.
New York won all three regular season matchups last season, while the Lightning have won six of the last 11 dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season.
Tonight will be the 107th reg. season meeting between the two teams.
Tampa Bay is 49-45-7 with five ties all-time vs. NYR. The Bolts are 6-4-0 in the last 10 reg. season games at NYR.
