BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech will hold its 8th annual Day of Giving on Thursday, Nov. 10, an opportunity for alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and students here and around the world to support their colleges, athletic teams, and programs.

With the slogan “Our University. Our Future. Game On!” Florida Tech’s award-winning Day of Giving will include several unique events, such as Family Feud with a university twist and the 3rd Annual Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament.

“Florida Tech needs you. Florida Tech needs your friendship. Florida Tech needs your passion,” said Gordon Patterson, Panther Chair for Day of Giving and a Florida Tech faculty member for 41 years.

“Our academic and athletic programs need you. The butterflies and botanical garden need you. WFIT needs you. The Evans Library needs you. The colleges need you. Most of all, the passionate, curious students who will lead us into tomorrow need you. Face it, you are needed.”

The day will feature a 24-hour live stream located at the university’s new Esports Center that will be available at dayofgiving.fit.edu starting at midnight on Nov. 10.

The Day of Giving website will include a tally with a live leaderboard showing real-time dollars and donors for each participating college, team and unit, as well as overall totals. The Florida Tech Alumni Association Facebook page will also be active with donor challenges, updates and live videos from celebrations around campus.

The money raised through Day of Giving will support Florida Tech’s greatest needs, including financial aid, research, and student activities.

Want a chance to win a vacation? If you have friends who might join you in supporting the Day of Giving, each of them will be entered for a chance to win a destination trip of your choosing. If you want to power up your chances of winning, sign up to be an ambassador to get your referral link. Each person who donates through your referral link will add your name to the drawing again.

The rules: Minimum $10 donation; entry is per person, not per donation; and the winner must show legal identification to claim the prize.

And don’t forget to sign up to join the Day of Giving Ambassadors 2022 group on the Florida Tech Connect website, where you can find ambassador updates, connect with fellow ambassadors, ask questions, and share your favorite Florida Tech memories.

To sign up, visit the website, go to groups, and search “Day of Giving Ambassadors 2022.”
