BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recognized longtime volunteer Michelle Hamilton with December’s VCOP Spotlight.
To say that Hamilton appreciates and wants to support the Palm Bay Police Department is a bit of an understatement.
Even though she left her part-time job with the police department to take a full-time position as administrative management support for a physician elsewhere, she continues to support the police department as a volunteer.
Hamilton says she’s always had a strong calling to help others. She feels like she’s continuing the legacy begun by family members who have served in the military and law enforcement.
She enjoys learning about each department/section and how they contribute to the police department.
As a volunteer, Hamilton has supported Materials Management and investigations and currently assists the Training and Background Investigations Department.
Hamilton met her husband of 23 years when they were in high school, and they have two daughters.
In her spare time, you probably won’t find her locally because she loves to travel and has big plans for upcoming trips to Germany, Austria, the Florida Keys, and California, all in 2023.
If you would like to become a VCOP like Michelle, send an email to VCOP@palmbayflorida.org or call 321-953-8987.
