TDT revenue 28% ahead of October 2021

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The October Tourist Development Tax (TDT) has come in at $1.789 million – a record for the month of October, beating the previous two best Octobers (2021 at $1.47 million and 2019 at $1.12 million).
This is 28% ahead of the previous October. October is the first month of our new fiscal year, so it begins the year well and sets the pace for Fall performance.
Looking at TDT by type, hotels represented 69% of the total for the month, and vacation rentals were 30% of TDT. In terms of hotel/motel revenue by city, Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral were at 33%, and Melbourne and the Beaches were at 29% as a percentage of the total.
Looking ahead to November, we believe that will be another record month, most likely exceeding the high of $1.36 million last year. After a record-breaking year of TDT last year of $23.33 million, this is certainly a good start to matching that number – but a long way to go.
Typically Fall is not the strongest season, with the Spring and Summer seasons leading the way, respectively.
