Gun Store Burglary Suspect Arrested in Apopka After Stealing Several Firearms in Melbourne

Melbourne Police announced  Jeremy D. Middleton, of Apopka, Florida, was arrested after attempting to break into a gun store (Arms for Defense) in Clearwater, Florida.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police announced  Jeremy D. Middleton, of Apopka, Florida, was arrested after attempting to break into a gun store (Arms for Defense) in Clearwater, Florida.

Police say Middleton is the suspect wanted for stealing multiple firearms from Sicarios Gun Store in Melbourne on January 4, 2023.

Middleton fled the scene in a black Honda Civic which he eventually abandoned and attempted to run on foot. After his arrest, the Honda was discovered to be stolen, and two firearms were found in the car.

One handgun, had been reported stolen from the Sicarios Gun Store burglary in Melbourne on January 4, 2023.

Over the weekend, agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Apopka Police Department went to Middleton’s home where they located all of the firearms stolen from Sicarios Gun Store.

In total, 14 firearms were recovered, police say.

Middleton is currently being held in the Pinellas County Jail.

As a result of Middleton’s suspected criminal activity spanning several jurisdictions across the state, the ATF has assumed this investigation.

The Melbourne Police Department will work closely with the ATF to ensure Middleton is charged for the Sicarios Gun Store burglary and gun thefts.
