OBITUARY: William T. Mitcheson III Passes Away at 77 in Melbourne

45-year member of the BPOE and a 56-year member of the Knights of Columbus

William T. Mitcheson III (Bill) died peacefully in Melbourne, Florida on January 14, 2023, at the age of 77. A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, February 11 at 2 p.m. at Beckman-Williamson in Viera, Florida.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – William T. Mitcheson III (Bill) died peacefully in Melbourne, Florida on January 14, 2023, at the age of 77.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Mitcheson, his daughter Marianne Racca and her husband Steven along with their two daughters Presley and Stevie-Lynne, and his son William T. Mitcheson of Portland, Oregon.

Bill is also survived by his sisters Edith Constantine and Catherine DeVitto of Boston, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was born on September 21, 1945, in Chelsea, Massachusetts to William T. Mitcheson II and Edith Mitcheson. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1964.

Bill was in the National Guard from 1965 to 1971 as a platoon sergeant and married his high school sweetheart in 1967. He was in the floor covering business for many years.

In 1977 he moved to New Hampshire and lived there for many years before finally residing in Florida in 2000.

Bill was an avid table tennis player and enjoyed the many clubs he belonged to throughout the years.

He was a 45-year member of the BPOE and a 56-year member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a generous individual who loved helping people whenever he could and was passionate about spending time with his family. His granddaughters were the light of his life.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, February 11 at 2 p.m. at Beckman-Williamson in Viera, Florida.
