Melbourne water customers at the Grand Teton Boulevard Area of Melbourne have been under a precautionary boil water notice since March 26.
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne water customers in some areas have been under a precautionary boil water notice since March 25.
The notice issued on March 26 applies to 2120 – 226 Grand Teton Boulevard and 2100 – 2402 Appalachian Drive.
The notice issued on March 25 applies to 2515 – 2585 Red Maple Place.
The notice issued on March 23 applies to 1949 – 2027 Wallace Avenue, 696 – 734 Van Buren Street, 1861 – 2045 Barkley Avenue.
Water has been shut off to these properties to perform a repair on hydrant valves in the area.
As a precaution, once water service is restored, the City of Melbourne advises that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes, be boiled.
A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
This precautionary boil water notice is expected to remain in effect until the required bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
