Space Coast Wood Carvers to Host Artistry in Wood Event Jan. 29 at Eau Gallie Civic Center

Come and enjoy the art of carving

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Wood Carvers will present “Artistry in Wood” on Sunday, January 29 at the Eau Gallie Civic Center, located at 1551 Highland Avenue. 

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the organizers are requesting a donation of $3.

Competition categories include Bark, Relief, Caricatures, Water foul, Canes and walking sticks, and Open.

Activities will include vendors, a raffle, food, and demos of relief carving, Bark and Caricature carving.

Space Coast Wood Carvers club meetings are held each Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 12 noon at 1440 Mosswood Drive in Melbourne, and club officials invite you to join and learn how to carve wood.

Meetings are also held on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 4391 Portage Trail in Melbourne.

“Come see just how much enjoyment it is to have camaraderie, friendship, and talent,” said club officials. “We have beginners, moderate carvers, very good carvers, and some master carvers in our Club.”

The membership fee is $30.
