18-Year-Old Female Dies After ATV Crash in St. Johns National Wildlife Refuge, One Person Injured

An 18-year-old female has died after an ATV accident in the St. Johns National Wildlife Refuge early Saturday morning.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – An 18-year-old female has died after an ATV accident in the St. Johns National Wildlife Refuge early Saturday morning.

Authorities say the crash happened around 12:10 a.m. when a 29-year-old man was driving the ATV with the 18-year-old female as his passenger.

The man attempted to drive up a hill on a dirt trail in the St. Johns National Wildlife Refuge when he lost control of the ATV, which caused both to be thrown from the ATV.

The man was taken to Holmes Regional where he is listed in serious condition, while the woman was taken Rockledge Regional where she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
