BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools Assistant Director of Student Athletics and Activities Dr. Andrew Ramjit resigned abruptly from his position on Wednesday, according to a statement Ramjit posted on Twitter.

Ramjit joined Brevard Public Schools in 2020, succeeding Bill Macheras.

Following is the statement:

To My Brevard Family,

What an amazing ride it has been. In the last 3 years, we have been able to make changes no one would have ever thought was possible. Increased coaches pay, rubberized tracks, adding 3 women’s sports, and so much more. [
am blessed to have led Athletics in Brevard Public Schools.

To the 900 coaches in Brevard and the 26 Athletic Directors I have been able to serve, THANK YOU. I fully expect each of you to embrace whoever comes into the role next with the same love you showed me. I leave with my head still on my shoulders and on my own terms, not everyone is that fortunate.

From here, my main focus will be making sure the Florida Coaches Coalition continues to serve as a platform to advocate for the rights of coaches across Florida.

If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.
