OBITUARY: Donald James Purnhagen, 65, of Satellite Beach Passed Away April 6

His sacrifice, support, and love will live on through those who knew him

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Donald James Purnhagen, 65, of Satellite Beach, FL, passed away on April 6, 2023.

He is survived by his sister, Sherry Ford, of Everett, WA; his wife, Analyn; their three daughters: Donalyn, Julya, and Amerinna, all of Satellite Beach; his sons Jeremy and Avery Purnhagen; and daughters Amber Borough and Jennifer Purnhagen, both of Dayton, OH; his seven grandchildren: Noah, Arianna, Easton, Lily, Trilby, Addison, and Alaina, of various locations.

Donald James Purnhagen was born to Tom and Donna (Johnson) Purnhagen on Aug 15, 1957, in Oak Ridge, TN.

Don’s father was a career Air Force officer and the family relocated frequently. Don attended Stebbins High School in Dayton, OH.

Don was an avid lover of the outdoors and spent much of his younger life sailing, windsurfing, and camping.

He worked as a database applications developer and loved using technology in his spare time. He was involved in amateur (Ham) radio and went by the callsign K4ILG.

Above all, he loved his family. Don was a truly selfless man and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home, 1110 E. Palmetto Ave, Melbourne, Fl. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with a procession along State Road A1A for a 4 p.m. Graveside prayer at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 S. Hwy U.S. 1, Rockledge, Fl 32955.
