Rodriguez becomes third former Titan to join a MLB team

Former Eastern Florida State College baseball player Alejandro Rodriguez signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former Eastern Florida State College baseball player Alejandro Rodriguez signed with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Rodriguez played two seasons with the Titans, hitting .338 over 74 games with 20 doubles, five home runs over the two seasons. The infielder went to Florida Gulf Coast University where he hit .315 in 140 games, starting 127.

The Cidra, Puerto Rico native drove in 111 runs and scored 100 runs. He caught 14 of 38 would-be base stealers, sporting one of the highest caught-stealing percentages in the NCAA.

He earned ASUN Third-Team honors and made 58 starts behind the plate for the Eagles.

Rodriguez becomes the third former Titan to join a Major League Baseball team as pitcher Andrew Walters was drafted by Cleveland in the second round and catcher Drew Cavanaugh was picked in the 17th round by San Francisco.
